About the Tour

Day 1: Leave La Paz for Sorata, passing through beautiful landscapes.

Day 2: Trek from Sorata to Lachathiya camp.

Day 3: Continue trekking towards the pass of Ancohuma and descend to Janq’u Uma camp.

Day 4: Reach Kurahuasi pass and continue to Cocoyo camp.

Day 5: Ascend to Sarani pass and descend to Ch’ajolpaya camp.

Day 6: Trek to Warawarani pass and descend to Negruni camp.

Day 7: Continue trekking to Lloco Lloconi camp.

Day 8: Trek to Venado camp after passing through Mollo Pass.

Day 9: Descend to Kotia camp after passing through the valley of Janq´u Quta.

Day 10: Continue to Ajwani camp after climbing Chacapa hill.

Day 11: Reach Juri Quta camp after passing through Janchallani and Juri Quta pass.

Day 12: Trek to Austria Peak and Condoriri base camp.

Day 13: Pack up and descend to Tuni to return to La Paz.

Itinerary of the Tour

🌞 Day 1 —

La Paz - Sorata

At 10:00 am we leave la paz, we pass through the beautiful landscape of the cordillera real, passing near lake titicaca, and then pass through the town of achacachi, warisata where you can see the imposing snowy illampu and ancohuma, so arrive next to where you can see the beautiful town of sorata 2,700m, where we rest the first night in hotel.

Day 2 ―

Sorata - Lachathiya

On the first day of five hours of trekking we leave at 08:00 a.m., Enjoying the beautiful landscape of sorata and the imposing snow of the illampu, and then arrive at the first lachathiya camp 3,850m.

Day 3 ―

Lachathiya - Janq’u uma

We leave in the morning we continue climbing, towards the pass of ancohuma 4,749 m from where you can see the landscape of the high valleys of sorata, with many andean flora and fauna, and then descend to the campsite 3,900 m.

Day 4 ―

Janq’u uma - Cocoyo

After two hours of walking we reach the kurahuasi pass of 4,479 m and then descend to the river, after passing through the town of cocoyo we continue to the campsite at 3,900 m in four hours.

Day 5 ―

Cocoyo - Ch’ajolpaya

With an ascent of 2 hours to the sarani pass of 4,500 m. From where we can see the snowy wara warani (negruni) ch’ajolpaya river, where you can see the snowy road and the variety of forest in the area and surrounding animals.

Day 6 ―

Ch’ajolpaya - Negruni

After breakfast, we continue with the 3-hour trek, towards the 4,900m warawarani pass near the glacier of these mountains, seeing the snowy chajowara and others, then continue descending to the campsite near a lake at 4,100m.

Day 7 â– Negruni – Lloco Lloconi

Continuing six hours, down the chiquini river down to the church of palca, then climb up the waraco river through the mountains of tres marias, passing through the grasslands, houses near the mountains, many andean fauna and thus reach the camping site of lloco lloconi 4,600m.

Day 8 â– Lloco Lloconi – Venado

After breakfast we start with the walk in the direction of another 4,800 m pass through small lagoons with andean fauna of the place, then descend down the ravine to the small river that is near the road and climb towards venada.

Day 9 â– Venado – Kotia

After breakfast we go to mollo pass 4,900 m where we descend to the valley of janq´u quta, passing through different lagoons of the glaciers of these mountains, minefields and thus descend to the campsite of kotia 4.650m.

Day 10 â– Kotia – Ajwani

After breakfast we continue climbing the slopes of the chacapa hill, where abandoned gold mines and the beautiful landscape of the highlands are observed and descend to the grasslands, then climb to ajwani camp at 4,700 m in six hours of trekking.

Day 11 â– Ajwani – Juri Quta

In six hours of trekking we have the janchallani pass of 4,860 m. To reach the second pass juri quta of 4,900 m. Then descend around the place, and descend to the juri quta lagoon camp at 4,700 m.

Day 12 â– Juri Quta – Pico Austria – Condoriri

We leave towards the apacheta pass and divert to the highest point of the trekking to austria peak 5,300 m. Highest step of the trakking, where you can see all the mountains of the condoriri group and then descend to the chiara quta lagoon of 4,700 m. It is the same base camp for climbing different mountains such as condoriri and others.

Day 13 â– Condoriri – Tuni – La Paz City.

After breakfast we prepare all the camping equipment, we load the mules and continue descending to tuni 4,200m small town of muleros and llaros, where the transport hopes to return to la paz in the afternoon.
