About the Tour

Day 1: Depart from La Paz in a private car and travel to Alto Cruz Pampa village. Prepare for the trek with mule drivers and hike to the base camp of Chachacomani at 4695 meters above sea level.

Day 2: After breakfast, hike through a scenic route to the high camp of Chachacomani at 5130 meters above sea level. Set up camp and rest for the day.

Day 3: Start the ascent to Chachacomani summit at 2:00 am. The climb involves navigating through glaciers and small cracks on the mountain. Reach the summit and descend back to the base camp.

Day 4: Hike back to Alto Cruz Pampa village for lunch before returning to La Paz by private car.

Itinerary of the Tour

🌞 Day 1 —

LA PAZ – ALTO CRUZ PAMPA – BASE CAMP OF CHACHACOMANI (4695 m.a.s.l.)

We will start our journey from the hotel in a private car, heading towards the altiplano. Upon arrival at the Alto Cruz Pampa village, we will make preparations with the mule drivers for our trek to the base camp of Chachacomani. We will trek through a deep valley to reach the base camp where we will set up camp for the night.

Day 2 ―

BASE CAMP – HIGH CAMP OF CHACHACOMANI (5130 m.a.s.l.)

After breakfast, we will embark on a trek through a pristine landscape, as Chachacomani is a relatively less visited mountain. We will follow a clear path through plains and slopes to reach the high camp. This hike will take the entire day, and upon arrival, we will set up camp and rest for the night.

Day 3 ―

HIGH CAMP OF CHACHACOMANI – CHACHACOMANI SUMMIT – BASE CAMP

We will begin our ascent to the summit of Chachacomani at 2:00 am. The initial part of the climb will be on a glacier with a relatively easy-to-follow trail. As we progress towards the summit, we will navigate through small cracks and slopes of the mountain. Climbing a 40-degree slope for 40 meters, we will reach the beautiful summit of Chachacomani. After enjoying the views, we will descend back along the same route to return to the base camp for the evening.

BASE CAMP OF CHACHACOMANI – ALTO CRUZ PAMPA – LA PAZ

We will have an early start at 8:00 am for our hike back to the village of Alto Cruz Pampa. After having lunch in the village, we will travel back to La Paz in a private car.
