Copacabana: At 158 kilometers by highway from the city of La Paz, at an altitude of 3841 meters, rises the beautiful town of Copacabana. In the town is found the famous Sanctuary of the Black Virgin, an image carved in 1592 from maguey wood by Francisco Tito Yupanqui, a native artist descended from the Incas.
The Calvary: This is a rock path which leads up a little mountain, which is climbed by pilgrims in honor of the Virgin and as a penance for their sins. Arriving at the end of the path, it is possible to appreciate a beautiful view of the Lake.
