About the Tour

Day 1: Depart from La Paz and travel through the altiplano to reach Alto Cruz Pampa village where we prepare for our trek to base camp. Camp under the stars for the night.

Day 2: Trek through a pristine landscape to reach the high camp of Chearoco. Set up camp and prepare for the next day’s summit attempt.

Day 3: Early morning start for the summit push of Chearoco. Cross glaciers and navigate steep slopes to reach the summit at 6127 meters. Descend back to base camp for the night.

Day 4: Pack up camp and hike back to the end of the valley where a private car will take you back to La Paz to conclude your adventure.

Itinerary of the Tour

🌞 Day 1 —

La Paz (3600 m.a.s.l.) – Approach – Base Camp (4780 m.a.s.l.)

Leaving the hotel in a private car for a trip through the altiplano.

We arrive at the next valley to Alto Cruz Pampa village where we prepare our approach with the mule drivers. A trek deep in the valley will take us to base camp.

Day 2 ―

Base Camp – High camp of Chearoco (5190 m.a.s.l.)

After breakfast we’ll take a walk through an almost virgin piece of land as this mountain has only recently become crowded.

Through a clear path between plains and slopes, we’ll reach high camp. This hike will be enough for one day. Settling camp and resting.

Day 3 ―

High Camp – Chearoco Summit (6127 m.a.s.l.) – Base Camp (4780 m.a.s.l.)

We’ll start our ascent at 02:00 am.

We’ll cross an ice tongue and enjoy 50 ° slopes. In addition to walking through small plains we’ll ascend the mountain in the most practical way. A short and final slope awaits at the summit.

Descent by the east ridge to base camp.

Day 4 ―

Base Camp – La Paz (3600 m.a.s.l.)

After breakfast we’ll walk to the end of the valley where our private car will take us back to La Paz.
