Walk in the Jungle for 3 Days

In this wildlife and nature adventure, we start in Rurrenabaque.

Spend 3 full days in the Bolivian Amazon basin. Stay two nights in an eco-lodge equipped with mosquito nets, hammocks, and full and all meals included.

The guided boat ride will take you through the habitats of different species, such as crocodiles and caimans, capybaras, bears, toucans, pink dolphins (depending on the season), monkeys, anteaters, various types of birds, and insects.

This tour is usually organized for a minimum of 2 people up to 10 people. For larger groups, we recommend contacting us to arrange accordingly.

About the Tour

Day 1: Depart from Rurrenabaque at 9:30 am and travel to Madidi National Park, Visit carved stones, a 150-meter stone canyon, and indigenous communities, Arrive at “El Refugio del Mache” lodge and enjoy lunch and a hike, Watch sunset and participate in a night walk with the possibility of seeing nocturnal animals, Dinner and rest at the lodge.

Day 2: Breakfast, then hike to Caiman camping area, Explore the jungle, fish in the lake, and enjoy traditional lunch, Take a night walk and return to the camp for rest.

Day 3: Breakfast, then embark on a long expedition to find medicinal plants, animals, and insects, Return to “El Refugio del Mache” lodge and enjoy lunch, Make handmade jewelry and depart for Rurrenabaque at 4:30 pm

Itinerary of the Tour

─ Day 1 ─

Rurrenabaque + Rio Beni + Rio Hondo + Refugio

We leave Rurrenabaque at 9:30 am in a comfortable boat with seats, roof and life jackets. We cross to San Buenaventura to pay the entrance fee to Madidi National Park.

Then we pass through the Beni River visiting the carved stones of the native Indians and then we know the great stone canyon of 150 meters where bats, snakes, tarantulas, etc. live. Then we continue the trip to San Miguel del Bala, where we will grind sugar cane and then head to the checkpoint “El Bala”.

Continuing with the navigation on the Beni River, we arrive at the checkpoint “El Bala” to obtain general information about the Madidi Park. The navigation will continue for 3 hours more to Rio Hondo where we will have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful landscapes such as the impressive Bala Canyon and the different indigenous communities settled on the banks of the Beni River. With an average of 13:00 pm.

We will arrive at our lodge “El Refugio del Mache” where we can enjoy lunch and rest for a while.

In the afternoon we will hike along our trail “El Motacusal”, where you can observe a variety of plants, learn about the multiple uses we give them in our medicine, handicrafts and sighting of giant trees. In addition to watching the sunset of the magnificent rainy landscape of Madidi National Park.

Returning to the lodge we will have a short rest and then continue with a night walk with the possibility of seeing nocturnal monkeys, rodents, nocturnal birds, etc.. On the way back we will perform a ceremony to mother earth “Pacha Mama”, an indigenous activity of shamans and native guides of the jungle.

Continuing with the buffet dinner and rest in the designated accommodation at the Central Lodge.

Day 2 ―

Camping Caiman

We start with a typical breakfast and then organize the luggage and travel for almost three hours to the camping area called Caiman.

There we organize our camp and offer typical food for lunch, then we make a hike into the jungle where you can appreciate the benefits it has. In our camping area we have a lake where we will fish piranhas, catfish, salmon, etc. with our traditions of fishing aranda, arrow or other forms and then we will serve the typical traditional food for dinner.

Continuing with the program we will take a night walk and then return to the camping area to rest.

Day 3 ―

Maneche Refuge + Rurrenabaque

We have breakfast appreciating the sunrise to continue with a long expedition in search of different types of trees, medicinal plants, animals and insects. We will return to the central camp “El Refugio del Mache” by a different path collecting seeds and appreciating the sighting of macaws of different colors (parrots).

Arriving at the central lodge we have lunch and in the afternoon we continue with the elaboration of handmade jewelry such as rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc..

River transportation will be waiting for us to take us to Rurrenabaque arrival time at 4:30 pm.
