Copacabana and Sun Island

07 am or 08 am We start in the city of La Paz, where we begin our adventure to Copacabana. It is approximately a 3-hour journey from La Paz.

Our transportation will be a tourist bus, and after three hours, we will arrive at a strait (Tiquina Strait) that we will cross by boat towards Copacabana. After half an hour, we will reach our final destination, where we will enjoy a delicious trout dish or another fish dish by the shores of the lake with a beautiful view. Later, we will take a boat to visit the marvelous Sun Island.

We will spend the night on Sun Island and the next day, we will visit the southern or northern part of the island, where we will take a hike before returning to Copacabana and then to La Paz.

Lake Titicaca is one of the worlds largest, and certainly the highest of its size, freshwater lakes at an altitude of 3810 meters above sea level. Renowned for its agricultural heritage (both potatoes and quinoa are believed to have been domesticated here), its rich cultural history (twin Inca brothers are believed to have risen from the lake near the Island of the Sun and thrown a lance to where Cusco was developed) and its incredible views, Titicaca should not be missed.
