The Hampaturi Ramble takes place in Hampaturi Valley, a rural valley roughly parallel to the valley of La Paz.

The Hampaturi Ramble starts out after a 30-40 minute drive from the city that not only gives you a new and stunning view of La Paz from the south but also a look at a rural landscape the La Paz valley might have resembled a few hundred years ago.

The ramble starts out on the western side of the valley and continues to ascend along a gentle gradient until you arrive at the Hampaturi Lake, an artificial water body that provides much of La Paz with water.

After a delicious picnic at the lakeside, the dam is crossed and you descend along the valleys eastern side, passing through several small villages along they ways with many of the houses built from adobe and stone as they were hundreds of years ago.

The Hampaturi Ramble finishes up at about 4pm in the village of Chicani, where you will be invited to a refreshing natural fruit drink and an Andean snack (and let into the bathroom!) before heading back to La Paz, arrival time about 5:00pm.
