Our 3-day excursion from La Paz to Copacabana and the Island of the Sun is the perfect way to get a sense of how this fascinating part of Bolivias natural and cultural history works.
Three days is just enough time to relax, visit the sites and even have some free time to explore on your own. The trip to Lake Titicaca sets off from La Paz and arrives in Copacabana at lunch time.
After a fresh lake trout lunch on the beach, well take you on a walk around the quiet town of “Copa”, visiting the Moorish influenced cathedral, the Horca del Inca ruins and then climbing the Calvario, just in time for the sunset views of the lake. After the walk, you’ll have some free time for handicraft shopping and rest.

The price includes transport to and from Copacabana in a tourist-class bus, a bi-lingual, trained guide, two nights lodging in Copacabana, ferry tickets to the Isla del Sol and breakfast days 2 and 3 and lunch days 1 and 2.

11:30 – Arrival in Copacabana & hotel registration
After breakfast, we will take you on a leisurely hike through the village of Jiska Qota, a traditional farming and fishing community near Copacabana. Well enjoy a picnic lunch and option swim along the way and return to Copacabana mid afternoon.

16:00 onwards – Handicrafts shopping, free time, dinner
Day 3 ■Sun Island & Return to La Paz City
We take you by boat to the Island of the Sun for a 3-5 hour hike across the island, where you can visit pre-Colombian ruins, have a picnic lunch and take in the spectacular views of the lake, the island itself and the snowy peaks of the Cordillera Real to the east. We return to Copacabana in the evening and then take off for La Paz, arriving about 8pm.

10:00 – Hike across Isla del Sol with picnic lunch
